Meet Johnny Thompson

With a background in accounting and farming, Johnny Thompson is a straight-shooter.

After a successful 30-year career as a CPA in a “Big 8” accounting firm, Johnny moved to the insurance brokerage business. After working several years for one of the largest insurance brokerages in the U.S., Johnny and Don Denbo co-founded C.I.A. in 2002. He serves as head of administration for C.I.A. and watches every dollar for the company and for his clients. His insurance practice is focused on the unique needs of the moving and storage industry, where he has many long-term clients.

He earned a Certified Insurance Counselor designation and served on the board of directors of Insurors of Tennessee. For more than a decade, he has led campaigns and worked on committees for the United Way of Williamson County.

Johnny grew up near the Smoky Mountains and was an active member of the FFA Organization in high school. He earned the “Future Farmer” award, the highest designation at the time, before attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he lettered as a member of the football team and earned degrees in both Business and Education.
