Meet Ryan Taylor
Ryan Taylor is not one to back down from a challenge, and that work ethic has carried him from building a book of business from the ground up. He has gone from cold calling every day to being named a top sales leader multiple times at one of the largest insurance brokers in the country.
Taylor grew up in Brentwood, TN, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and attended Ezell Harding High School and Freed-Hardeman University in West Tennessee. He sold books door to door in college, and he attributes the time he spent with Southwestern Company in Los Angeles, California with teaching him the habits and worth ethic it takes to succeed in sales: persistency, consistency, self-motivation and tenacity.
As he says, “the no’s eventually lead to the yes’s.”
Taylor began his career at Van Meter Insurance directly after college. He immediately hit the ground running. He enjoyed meeting new clients and it was there that he honed his selling abilities and relationships for the next ten years. He then moved on to BB&T, where he remained for 5 years before joining CIA.
Taylor is a generalist, as he does a little bit of everything, working with a wide variety of clients; from healthcare to construction to manufacturing.
He is the recipient of numerous Top Gun awards at Van Meter and the President’s Club award at BB&T, where he was also named the top Nashville sales leader four out of five years.
Taylor enjoys the fact that there’s never a dull moment in this industry and the competitive nature of it as well. He loves getting to learn more about people’s businesses and what makes them tick.
He and his wife Erica have three children together, Darby, Chandler, and Finley, and a Labrador Retriever Rocco. They both have large families and love spending time together on the weekends.
